Khyra Butterfield, MA

Hey! My name is Khyra. I am a doctoral extern under the supervision of Dr. Becky Miller, licensed psychologist at The Goode Practice. I provide therapy to clients located in Maryland and currently I am available for virtual sessions on Wednesdays.
I am an international student from Bermuda and identify as a Black heterosexual Bermudian woman. My background and experiences shape my understanding and appreciation of diverse identities, which informs my work with clients from various cultural and social backgrounds.

I have a strong foundation in child, adolescent, and family mental health. My experience includes working with those that have both emotional and behavioral challenges. I am enjoy working with adults and adolescents from marginalized communities (e.g., immigrants and LGBTQIA+). My therapeutic approach is integrative, blending cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and person-centered interventions. I believe in tailoring therapy to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering a safe and supportive space for growth.

As Dale Partridge once said, "You were born with the ability to change someone's life—don't ever waste it." I take that to heart in my work and strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I serve.

I look forward to joining you on your journey!

Best,

Khyra (she/her)
